Tater "I love to meet up with my dog friends at the Loring Park play area! There are so many cool rocks and trees to run around while our moms and dads watch us play!  Having dog-friendly restaurants nearby gives mom a chance to catch up with the neighbors, too"

Welcome to Loring Park Play Area!
The Dog Grounds off-leash play area in the Loring neighborhood is located on the north corner of Loring Park between the Minneapolis Community Technical College and the Loring Park businesses. This play area features "The Bridge to Erehwon" for playing, and limestone boulders sized and placed throughout the park for people to sit on and dogs to climb on. The fence is a black, ornamental, commercial-grade aluminum, the ground cover is a crushed limestone material and there are plenty of pick-up bags and garbage cans.  The 10,000 sq. ft. play area celebrated groundbreaking on May 17, 2007 and its Grand Opening on June 27, 2007.

    Loring Park Play Area
Loring Totem The Loring Play Areas is a privately funded, state-of-the-art dog park, for residents of downtown Minneapolis. The new 10,000 sq. ft. play area is similar in size to dog runs in New York City, where dog ownership and urban density are some of the highest in the country. The new artwork is a 16 ft. tall, 800 lb., wood-carved totem pole, custom designed by renowned canine artist, Bill Blaxley, sculpted by world champion chainsaw sculptor, Dennis Roghair, and commissioned by Ray Harris, a Loring resident and downtown developer.
